Regional IT Programming Hackathon “CODEMASTERS HACKATHON”
On December 8, the Regional IT programming hackathon “CODEMASTERS HACKATHON” took place at Oskemen IT-Hub, where 9 teams from colleges and universities in the region took part.
The goal of the hackathon is to encourage college and university students to create the first versions of innovative applications and services that are available to everyone.
Over the course of 7 hours, the teams were asked to develop an innovative solution to combat online bullying and create a positive digital space. The “Crystal Castles” team, which included 3rd year students of the EP “Information Systems”: Danil Fedotov, Ayan Khasenov and Danil Tyulkin, in this difficult task developed a multilingual algorithm for 100% recognition of negative words and obscene language in the text in the C# language programming called Nortrom. The team also connected this technology with one of the popular social networks VKontakte, showing the jury an example of the algorithm’s operation in real time.
Based on the results of the “CODEMASTERS HACKATHON” IT hackathon, the KAFU team under the leadership of Senior Lecturer of the Business Department Yuliya V. Trofimova successfully completed the tasks and took the first place, receiving a cash reward in the amount of 75 thousand tenge!
Congratulations to the students and wishes of further victories and success!
