Regional project competition dedicated to the 130th anniversary of Saken Seifullin, Ilyas Dzhansugurov and Beyimbet Maylin

On November 15, 2024, the Kazakh-American Free University hosted a regional project competition dedicated to the 130th anniversary of three outstanding figures of Kazakh literature – Saken Seifullin, Ilyas Dzhansugurov and Beyimbet Maylin. The event brought together schoolchildren and college students, teachers and professors.

Participants included students from city and regional schools, city and regional college students

The competition became an important milestone in celebrating the anniversary of these great writers, whose work left an indelible mark on the history of Kazakh literature. Participants presented various projects in Kazakh and Russian, research and creative works reflecting the contribution of Seifullin, Dzhansugurov and Mailin to the development of national literature and culture.

Opening the competition, Assem N. Nurlanova, Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, noted: “Today’s event is not only a tribute to these outstanding personalities, but also an opportunity for young people to better understand their work, to be imbued with the spirit of the time they described, and to realize the importance of literary heritage for modern times.”

The jury of the competition included teachers and students of our university.

The winners of the competition were awarded 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree diplomas. The leaders were awarded letters of thanks. More information about the results of the competition can be found here.
