The Mother’s House Resource Center for Women in Crisis Becomes a Partner of the International Leadership Academy at KAFU
On May 29, 2025, as part of the International Leadership Academy at the Kazakh-American Free University, participants from five countries visited Mother’s House – a unique resource center in Ust-Kamenogorsk that provides assistance to women in difficult life situations.
The center offers temporary accommodation, psychological and legal support, helps restore documents, find employment, and gain professional skills. Special attention at Mother’s House is given to preventing the abandonment of newborns by organizing informational sessions in colleges and schools, where topics such as early pregnancy, motherhood, and contraception are discussed.
During the visit, participants from the USA, Afghanistan, Thailand, the Philippines, and Kazakhstan learned about the center’s activities, heard inspiring stories of women who were able to change their lives thanks to the support of the Mother’s House team, and discussed with the staff the importance of leadership, social responsibility, and intercultural interaction when working with vulnerable groups.
This visit became a powerful example for the Academy’s participants of true service to society – where leadership is expressed through caring for others and creating conditions for positive change.
