Round Table Dedicated to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan

On December 4, 2024, a round table dedicated to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at the Turan-Astana University. The event was organized by the Higher School of Law and Humanities of TAU for students and postgraduates.

The following people delivered welcoming speeches to the participants of the round table from KAFU:

– Kairat O. Alembayev, PhD, Head of the Department of Law and International Relations;

– Saveliy A. Muzhchil, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Law and International Relations.

The participants’ reports touched upon current issues of the implementation of human rights and freedoms. Particular attention was paid to the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, their reflection in national legislation, as well as international and national mechanisms for the protection of human rights.

The following speakers presented their reports from KAFU:

Ulpan Zhakueva, a 3rd-year student of the educational program “Law and Law Enforcement Activity”, with the topic “Olim zhazasi — adildik pe, aldek kuqyqty buzu ma?” (“Death penalty – justice or violation of rights?”);

Ksenia Vinnik, a 2nd-year student of the educational program “Jurisprudence”, with the topic “International Law in the Field of Human Rights”.

Their academic supervisor was Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Law and International Relations Aiman ​​Sh. Mutalyapova.

Representatives of the Tashkent State University of Law also took part in the round table. Sardor Mardanov, a 4th-year student of the specialty “Public Administration”, presented the topic “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Human Rights”. His scientific supervisor was a teacher of the Department of International Law and Human Rights of TSUL Shokhrukhbek M. Tillaboev.
