Scientific Cooperation between KAFU and the Academy of Justice under the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan

December 2, 2022 Professor of the Department of Law and International Relations of the Kazakh-American Free University, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Yuliya Gavrilova took part in the online dialogue of lawyers “Ashyk Alan” on the topic: “Relevant Issues of Combating Fraud and Financial Pyramids.”

The event was organized by the Scientific and Educational Center for Criminal Law Disciplines of the Academy of Justice under the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Rector of the Academy of Justice under the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zauresh Baymoldina addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the urgency of the problem of improving legislation to combat fraud and financial pyramids.

Deputy Head of the Department of Prevention and Analytical Developments of the Agency for Financial Monitoring Davydov A.V. and senior detective Baykuatova K.Sh. shared the practice of counteracting financial pyramids, highlighted the problems of detection and investigation. Also, practitioners of the Astana Police Department, the Prosecutor’s Office of Baikonur raised issues of suppressing fraud and financial pyramids

The online dialogue was attended by researchers and teachers of Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Karaganda Buketov University, Karaganda Beisenov Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan , the Higher School of Law of the University of Narikbaev KAZGUU university.

Moderator of the event, Director of the Scientific and Educational Center for Criminal Law Disciplines of the Academy of Justice, Ph.D. in Law, Associate Professor A.A. Biebaeva summed up the discussion and offered specific recommendations for the legislator in terms of improving legislation to combat fraud and pyramid schemes.
