On October 13, 2025, as part of the implementation of project AP19680677 “Economic and Demographic Development of Kazakhstan: The Gender Aspect”, funded under the grant program for scientific and (or) scientific-technical projects for 2023–2025 by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a scientific seminar titled “Problems of Gender Inequality in the Labor Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan” was held at the Kazakhstan-American Free University (KAFU).

Members of the research group presented the results of their studies on topics including the analysis of the current state of gender imbalance in the labor market, trends in women’s employment across various sectors of the economy, and barriers limiting their career advancement and participation in managerial structures.

During the seminar, the participants discussed the results of statistical and comparative-legal analyses reflecting the dynamics of female employment, the level of gender segregation by profession and type of activity, as well as the influence of educational and family factors on women’s economic activity in Kazakhstan.

Special attention was given to improving state policy aimed at ensuring equal opportunities and implementing the principles of gender equality.

Based on the seminar’s outcomes, proposals were developed to strengthen institutional mechanisms for gender equality in the labor sphere, enhance the role of women in innovation and entrepreneurship, and promote further scientific research in the fields of gender economics and social justice.
