Seminar-Training for Anti-Corruption Volunteers
As part of the promotion of the «Law and Order» project in East Kazakhstan, a regional seminar-training for anti-corruption volunteers was held on February 26, 2025, in which KAFU students took an active part.
The Anti-Corruption Volunteering project was launched in 2023 with the aim of involving society in anti-corruption issues.
The seminar was opened by the First Deputy Head of the Anti-Corruption Service of the region, Asylkhan Ashikov. He noted the importance of the work of anti-corruption volunteers and emphasized their contribution to strengthening public control over the use of budget funds.
“Since the beginning of the project, thanks to volunteers, it was possible to prevent the irrational use of almost 740 million tenge of regional budget funds. In addition, anti-corruption volunteers provided legal assistance to about 2 thousand citizens and monitored more than 100 socially significant facilities,” Asylkhan Ashikov said.
During the seminar, interesting and informative reports on current topics were presented. Participants discussed the role of volunteers in society, the development of the volunteer movement in Kazakhstan, the impact of selfless assistance on personal growth, and the importance of supporting volunteer activities among young people. Special attention was paid to the topic of culture as a tool for combating corruption, in particular the role of musicians in shaping the values of honesty and fairness.
Each of the presentations became a vivid example of how volunteering can be a powerful tool in the fight against corruption and contribute to the formation of a new generation of conscientious citizens ready to contribute to the creation of a fair society.
At the end of the event, the most active anti-corruption volunteers were awarded certificates of merit by the head of the Anti-Corruption Service of the region for their significant contribution to the development of anti-corruption culture and work for the benefit of society.
In addition, a letter of thanks was awarded to the compliance officer of KAFU, Ardak K. Abdrakhmanova.
