Seminar-Workshop with the Participation of the Regional Trade Union

On February 14, 2025, within the framework of the memorandum of mutual cooperation between the Trade Union Center of the East Kazakhstan region and the Kazakh-American Free University, a seminar-workshop was held on the topic: “Practice of Applying the Labor Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Resolving Labor Disputes.”

The purpose of this event was the theoretical and practical training of students of the educational programs “Law” in the application of labor legislation.

The welcoming speech was made by the First Vice-President of KAFU, PhD Zhassulan Y. Baikenov, and the Chairman of the Territorial Association of Trade Unions “Trade Union Center of the East Kazakhstan region” Kassymzhanov T.Zh.

Also during the seminar, experts spoke, who covered current issues of applying labor legislation, protecting the labor rights of employers and employees, as well as resolving labor disputes. Among the speakers were the representative of the Human Rights Commissioner Mizanbekov S.M., the chief specialist in legal issues of the Trade Union Center of the East Kazakhstan region Nurpeisov B.A., the head of the labor legislation control department of the Department of the State Labor Inspectorate Committee of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population in the East Kazakhstan region Yergazinov K.S.

As part of the event, 3rd-year students of the educational programs “Law” conducted a simulation of a trial to consider an individual labor dispute.

Such seminars play an important role in developing students’ knowledge and skills in the field of labor legislation, and also contribute to increasing the level of legal literacy.

We hope for the successful development of cooperation between the trade unions of the region and the university in the future!
