The Art of Being a Leader
On March 6, 2025, a meeting was held between Daniel Ballast, Vice President for International Programs at the Kazakh-American Free University, and students of the KAFU Major-Specific Class project.
The main topic of discussion was “Leadership as a Life Strategy in the Modern World.” Participants considered the key characteristics of a successful leader, his influence on the team, and also analyzed real examples of leadership behavior in various areas – from business to public activities.
Particular attention was paid to issues of ethical leadership: how to inspire people without pressure and manipulation, what qualities allow a leader not only to manage processes, but also to create a favorable working atmosphere. The difference between leadership and management was also discussed, namely, the ability of a leader not just to organize work, but to motivate a team to achieve common goals.
The discussion was held in a lively, interactive form. Participants shared personal experiences, gave examples from life and participated in team exercises that allow them to better understand and feel the principles of effective leadership.
During the meeting, the student of the KAFU Major-Specific Class project, Evelina Stremchuk, was presented with a memorable gift for her active participation in the event “KAFU Open Days” – The Art of Being a Leader.
Following the meeting, everyone noted its practical value and expressed a desire to continue such discussions in the future.
The “KAFU Major-Specific Class” project not only provides schoolchildren with a unique educational opportunity, but also emphasizes the importance of cooperation between the Kazakh-American Free University and schools to ensure high-quality and continuous education of a new generation of leaders.
