The Book “Argykazak Mythology” was Presented in Ankara

Serikbol Kondybay (1968–2004) was a Kazakh local historian, geographer, publicist, and ethnographic researcher who dedicated half of his life to reviving the history, culture, and worldview of the Kazakh people.

On October 14, the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOY) held a presentation of one of the author’s most significant works — “Argyqazaq Mythology.” The event took place in Ankara with the support of the National Library of the President of the Republic of Türkiye.

The meeting was attended by TÜRKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Türkiye Erkebulan Sapiyev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Türkiye Ilkhom Khaydarov, Deputy Akim of the Mangystau Region Tilegen Abishev, Akim of the city of Aktau Abylkair Baipakov, Head of the Department of Culture of the Mangystau Region Nurtas Sali, as well as many academicians, writers, and art enthusiasts. Among the guests was also Nursulu Kairdynovna Turgumbayeva, Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the Kazakhstan-American Free University, who is currently undertaking a research internship at Başkent University.

This significant event not only emphasized Serikbol Kondybay’s immense contribution to the study of the shared spiritual heritage of the Turkic world but also became a symbol of strengthening cultural and scientific cooperation between Kazakhstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan, as well as a testament to the growing friendship and brotherhood of kindred nations.
