The Fight against Labor Slavery in the Modern World

On January 29, 2024, a lecture was held at the Kazakh-American Free University by Nazigul Akhmetkalieva, Director of the «Phoenix» Development and Adaptation Center.

The lecture provided information about modern labor slavery. The speaker explained the dangerous channels through which criminals operate, from personal meetings to the use of the Internet. It was noted how to recognize attempts at deception and prevent falling into slavery. The risks faced by people from rural areas when moving to big cities were highlighted, as well as the dangers associated with unvetted overseas vacancies and working abroad. The measures that Kazakhstan is taking to combat labor slavery and kidnappings were announced.
