The KAFU Team Took First Place in the Regional Moot Court Competition
On December 5, 2025, students from the Department of Law and International Relations (“Jurisprudence” and “Law and Law Enforcement” educational programs) at the Kazakh-American Free University took part in the regional “Moot Court” competition. The event was organized by the Department of Criminal Law at Alikhan Bokeikhan University in Semey, Abay Region.
Teams from regional universities and colleges majoring in Law participated in the competition. The jury included judges of the Abay Regional Court, representatives of the prosecutor’s office, and representatives of the regional bar association. The competition included three stages:
1. Team Introduction
2. Quick Quiz on Knowledge of the Law Enforcement and Judicial Systems of the Republic of Kazakhstan
3. Show Trial
Following the competition, the KAFU team took first place, and university students won in two individual categories: “Best Judge” and “Best Prosecutor.”

The team leader is Rita A. Adilmuratova, PhD, senior lecturer and researcher.
Individual winners:
• “Best Judge” – Ulpan Zhakueva, fourth-year student majoring in “Law and Law Enforcement”
• “Best Prosecutor” – Aibek Seksembay, third-year student majoring in “Jurisprudence”
KAFU students demonstrated deep theoretical knowledge, a high level of professional communication, and the ability to apply criminal and criminal procedure law in practice. The jury particularly praised the team’s confidence, high-quality preparation, and competent conduct of the trial.
It is important to note that in 2024, the KAFU team also won a similar competition, taking first place and receiving awards in the “Best Judge” and “Best Lawyer” categories.
