The Regional Youth Forum “Unity in Labor: Year of Blue-Collar Jobs”

The Regional Youth Forum “Unity in Labor: Year of Blue-Collar Jobs” was held on April 17, 2025, at the Kazakh-American Free University together with the Assembly of the Peoples of Kazakhstan of East Kazakhstan Region.

The forum became an important platform for dialogue between young people and representatives of blue-collar jobs who have made a significant contribution to the development of the region and the country. The event was attended by activists of the Youth Assembly movement, students – representatives of the Student Assemblies of East Kazakhstan Region, as well as honored guests – specialists whose work forms the basis of the well-being of society.

The event was held in the format of an open dialogue, where participants were able not only to listen to the speakers, but also to directly communicate with professionals working in the field of construction, agriculture, industry, services, and other vital industries. Such live communication helps to destroy established stereotypes and increases the prestige of blue-collar jobs, which often remain in the shadow of public attention.

2025 has been declared the Year of Blue-Collar Professions in Kazakhstan, and today, when digital technologies and office employment are often given priority, it is especially important to remember: it is the work of blue-collar workers that ensures economic stability, safety and comfort in our daily lives.

By creating a space for recognizing such professions, we: – form respect for honest work,

– cultivate gratitude and awareness in young people,

– help to see real prospects in blue-collar professions,

– develop civic activism and social responsibility.

The forum became not just an exchange of opinions, but a real source of inspiration – an example of the unity of generations and professional areas. It once again reminded everyone: there is dignity in every work, and every work is important.
