Tour of the Pretrial Detention Facility No. 73 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ust-Kamenogorsk

As part of the “Law and Order” campaign, on February 6, 2026, students from the Kazakh-American Free University visited the Pretrial Detention Facility No. 73 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ust-Kamenogorsk to foster a culture of legality and prevent crime.
During the visit, the students were given a tour of the pretrial detention facility, where they learned about the conditions, regime, and operational specifics of the facility. Particular attention was paid to issues of compliance with the law, liability for offenses, and the consequences of unlawful behavior.
A meeting was also held with convicted young people serving sentences for illegal drug trafficking. In a lively dialogue, they shared their personal life experiences, discussed the reasons that led to their crimes, and emphasized the importance of making life choices.
Such events are aimed at preventing deviant behavior among young people, fostering a negative attitude toward drug trafficking, and strengthening students’ legal awareness and civic responsibility.
