V International Tourism Olympiad dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Honored Teacher of the USSR, veteran of the Second World War, teacher Kumash Nurgaliev

On March 14, 2025, students of the Business Department of the EP “Tourism” of the Kazakh-American Free University took part in the V International Tourism Olympiad, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Honored Teacher of the USSR, veteran of the Great Patriotic War, teacher Kumash Nurgaliev. The event was organized by the Department of Economics, Management and Finance of the S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University.

The Olympiad was also attended by 1st-4th year students of the EP “Tourism” from the Tajikistan International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship, Almaty University of Management, Ablai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, Shakarim University of Semey, Kazakhstan Technical University and S. Amanzholov Higher School of Management.

The theme of the Olympiad is “Creative Tourism in Kazakhstan”.

The goal of the event is to develop creative approaches in the field of tourism and popularize the tourism potential of Kazakhstan among young people.

To participate in the Olympiad, participants had to submit a presentation, report, essay and video on a given topic.

Yevgeniy A. Issakov , a 2nd year student of the EP “Tourism”, presented a project on the topic: “Development of the Tourist Route “Sauyr Mountains”. The route started in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, with a subsequent visit to the Yrgyzbai Ata mausoleum, the Shiliktinsky mounds, Lake Zaysan and the Saur Mountains.

Anel M. Muratova, a 2nd-year student of the Tourism program, prepared a project on the topic: “Excursion Route around the City of Ust-Kamenogorsk”. The goal of the project was to create an interesting and educational route that reveals the main attractions, cultural and historical sites of the city.

The works were prepared under the supervision of the senior lecturer of the Business Department Kalieva A.E.

Based on the results of the Olympiad, Evgeny A. Issakov took the 2nd place.
