VI International Distance Olympiad on the Educational Program “Tourism”

On April 10-11, 2025, the 6th International Distance Olympiad on the educational program “Tourism” was held at the Karaganda Buketov University. The organizers of the Olympiad were the Marketing Department and the Institute for Digital Economy Research.

The goal of the Olympiad was to improve the quality of training specialists in the tourism sector and stimulate research in the field of tourism.

The Olympiad consisted of two rounds:

1 round — «Tourist Map». Each team developed a map of a region, area or city with tourist routes, objects, marks of tourist infrastructure and creative industries.

2 round — «Video». The teams presented video works to the expert committee in the following areas:

• “Development of smart tourism products and services”,

• “Innovations in gastronomic tourism”,

• “Strategies for the development of SPA tourism in the region”,

• “Author’s content in the promotion of tourist destinations”, etc.

11 teams from universities in Kazakhstan and the CIS countries took part in the Olympiad.

Students’ team «Legacy of the East» of KAFU of EP «Tourism» consisting of: Zhunusova Zh. S., Muratova A. M., Reshetnikova E. A. — was awarded a Diploma of the 3rd degree for winning the 6th International Distance Olympiad in the educational program “Tourism”.

This victory is the result of the high level of training of students and the hard work of teachers.
