Visiting Classes with Leading Faculty Members of the Department as Part of Career Guidance.

On April 1, 2026, Valentina V. Gersonskaya, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages, conducted an interpreting training session for students of the Translation Studies program of the Higher College of KAFU and second-year students of the Translation Studies program of the Kazakh-American Free University.

The students learned about the stages of developing translation competencies in the EP 6B02301 “Translation Studies” program and completed a series of exercises that trained them in rapid code switching, divided attention, linguistic forecasting, working memory, and voluntary attention. The instructor explained the purpose of each of these exercises and how they can be modified depending on the desired results.
