Workshop with the Bronze Medalist of the Asian Championship

On February 15, 2023, a practical-oriented lesson was held at the Kazakh-American Free University for students of the EP “Physical Education and Sports” as part of the study of the discipline “Athletics”. A special guest was the bronze medalist of the Asian Athletics Championship Elizaveta Matveeva.

The workshop was dedicated to the topic “Technique and Methodology for Preparing High-Level Track and Field Athletes”. Elizaveta shared her personal experience, talked about her training, approach to competitions and preparation for starts. The students were especially interested in the part of the lesson in which the athlete described in detail the key elements of professional sprint technique – start, acceleration and work at the finish.

Separately, important topics were touched upon: recovery after exercise, sports nutrition and an individual approach to the training process. The students enthusiastically joined the dialogue, asked questions, discussed what they heard and received a lot of useful recommendations.

Such classes are an excellent opportunity for future specialists not only to touch the world of big-time sports, but also to acquire real professional skills. Workshops with the participation of active athletes help to better understand the specifics of the profession and inspire their own achievements.
