Workshop on Modern Approaches to Teaching Physical Education at KAFU
On April 9, 2026, the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology at the Kazakh-American Free University held a workshop for first- to fourth-year students on modern approaches to organizing physical education classes in the context of a changing educational environment. Approximately 40 students from pedagogical programs participated in the event.
The seminar was chaired by Issatay Z. Kazhan, a researcher and physical education teacher at the Konyrbay Kudageldinov Secondary School in the Ulan District of the East Kazakhstan Region. He is actively involved in promoting a healthy lifestyle, implementing inclusive education, and applying modern physical education methods.
The topic of the meeting was the use of health-promoting technologies and inclusive approaches in physical education classes in the new educational environment. During the seminar, participants learned about modern methods of organizing classes, the principles of differentiated learning, the specifics of inclusive education, and tools for monitoring students’ physical activity.
The practical portion of the event included demonstrations of effective exercise programs for individual and group work, the use of gaming technologies, and the use of mobile apps and fitness trackers in the educational process. Students were particularly interested in examples of integrating digital technologies into physical education lessons.
The seminar concluded with an open discussion, during which students had the opportunity to ask questions, discuss current issues in modern education, and exchange opinions with a practicing teacher. As a result of the meeting, participants gained valuable practical experience and recommendations for their future professional careers.
