Competition “Future Lawyer” among Students of 9-11th Grades in Ust-Kamenogorsk Schools

On April 5, 2024, at Kazakh-American Free University, the city competition “Future Lawyer” was held among 9-11th graders of Ust-Kamenogorsk schools. It was organized by the KAFU Higher College. 13 teams from Ust-Kamenogorsk schools took part in the competition.

The main goal of the event was to promote the development and strengthening of the legal culture and legal literacy of adolescents in society, as well as to provide career guidance support to students in the process of choosing a future profession.

Work with schoolchildren was carried out at two sites: work of breakout sessions by psychologists on the topic “Bullying as a Social Problem” and the work of the session “Prevention of Crimes” (an exhibition from the East Kazakhstan Police Department).

At the grand opening of the competition, the Head of the Personnel Policy Department of the East Kazakhstan Police Department, Erat K. Shalkybaev, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
The competition consisted of three stages: Stage 1 – preparation of a modern video on the topic “Legal Literacy is a Requirement of the Times”, Stage 2 – testing the level of theoretical knowledge of the school curriculum in the subject “Fundamentals of Law”, Stage 3 was held in the format of a discussion.
According to the results of the competition, first place was shared by teams from the “Shokan Ualikhanov School-Lyceum No. 3” of the education department for the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk of the education department of the East Kazakhstan region and “Lev Gumilyov Gymnasium No. 38” of the education department for the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk of the education department of the East Kazakhstan region.

Second place was also taken by two teams – schoolchildren from “Secondary School No. 27” of the education department for the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk of the East Kazakhstan Institution and “Secondary School No. 7” of the education department for the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk of the East Kazakhstan Institution.

In third place were the students from “Profile Secondary School No. 45” of the education department for the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk of the East Kazakhstan Institution and “School-center for additional education No. 19” of the education department for the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk of the East Kazakhstan Institution.
