Cooperation within the Framework of the “Kindergarten-School-University” Project
Since 2018, KAFU has been implementing a joint project between the university and the Valeological Specialized School-Complex for Gifted Children of the East Kazakhstan Education Department. One of the areas of the project is teaching foreign languages to children of preschool and primary school age. The university students majoring in “Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” and KAFU Higher College majoring in “Pedagogy and Methods of Teaching Language and Literature” (foreign language teacher) are involved in conducting the classes.
Since 2019, in addition to English, the partner school has also begun to introduce the study of French in collaboration with the international educational organization “EuropeAsia” (France, Paris). Gymnasiums No. 10, 38 and school No. 2 of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk actively joined this project.
On October 16, 2023, the experience of implementing a multilingual education project in the form of the “French Autumn” festival was presented in Valeological Specialized School-Complex for Gifted Children. The participants of the event were the Head of the Education Department of East Kazakhstan region Inessa A. Chernysheva, the President of the International Educational Organization “EuropeAsia” Cassild A. (France, Paris), honorary citizen of Ust-Kamenogorsk and East Kazakhstan region, public figure, Deputy of the City Maslikhat Sergey V. Korotin, school directors in the region and city. The Kazakh-American Free University was represented by Nataliya Nesterenko – Advisor to the Rector of KAFU and Marina I. Kikina – Vice-Rector, Director of the Higher College of KAFU.
The project participants could enjoy creative performances by schoolchildren, students and teachers. In the end they summarized the experience of principals of partner schools in the implementation of multilingual education.
