KAFU Students are the champions and winners of World Winter Universiade, winners of the World Junior Championships, Asian Winter Games, Asian Championships, the winners and medalists of the Republic of Kazakhstan. At the World Winter Universiade in Trentino (Italy) student from major “Physical Culture and Sports” Gennady Matviyenko won the gold medal in cross country skiing in the composition of the men’s relay, and the ice hockey team, which included KAFU students, won an honorable 2nd place, losing in bitter struggle Canadian national team. Polezhaeva Svetlana won a gold medal at the Asian Championship in slalom (Taiwan). Sabimoldanova Aygul became the champion of Asia in arm wrestling. At the XV Asian Championship in rowing and canoeing, which was held in Samarkand (Uzbekistan), students of Kazakh American Free University Kulikova Anna and Andrey Shpak won 2 silver medals. Valeria Tsoi took 4th place in the World Cup snowboard and became part of the national team of Kazakhstan to the Olympics in Sochi. Tursynbekov Yerasyl won the Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan on national struggle in kazaksha kures.

a three-time Asian champion, repeated champion of the Republic of Kazakhstan
in slalom.

Gennady Matvienko – 3rd year student on major “Physical Culture and Sports”,
the champion of the World Winter Universiade on cross-country skiing in 2013, a
bronze medalist at the World Junior Championships, multiple winner and
medalist of Kazakhstan.

Valeria Tsoi – 4th place at the World Cup on snowboard. Nine-time champion of
the Republic of Kazakhstan. Team member of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the
Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014.
