On September 15, 2024, at the initiative of the Student Scientific Society of the Department of “Business” and the travel agency “Voyage”, an excursion to the historical and archaeological complex “Akbaur” was organized.
This excursion was attended by students of the educational programs “Tourism” and “Restaurant Business and Hotel Business” of the Kazakh-American Free University under the guidance of the senior lecturer of the Department of Business Kalieva A.E. During the excursion, the guide told the students interesting stories about “Akbaur” – a natural and historical monument of the Upper Irtysh region, and the participants of the excursion visited the Neolithic temple complex.
The participants of the excursion also visited the personal exhibition of the mineral collection of A. Koishybaev “The Amazing World of Stone”. The exhibition presented collections of minerals from different regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Researcher, collector A. Koishybaev collected here over a thousand minerals and different types of stones from all over the country. Participants of the fascinating excursion around the museum could not only see various finds, but also touch them.
The historical and archaeological complex “Akbaur” is a unique monument of nature, history and archeology. It is included in the “State List of Historical and Cultural Monuments of Local Significance” of the East Kazakhstan region. On its territory there are many archaeological monuments of different eras, among which a special place is occupied by: a grotto with rock paintings made with red ocher from the 5th-3rd millennia BC, burial mounds “with a mustache”, a “ritual site” with petroglyphs. “Akbaur” in ancient times served as a place where they determined the points of the equinox and solstice, observed the location of the Sun, Moon and stars. Akbaur is located 38 km from the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, in the upper reaches of the Akbaur stream behind the village of Sagyr, on Mount Korzhimbay.
