Guest Lecture by a Judge of the Bishkek City Court

On September 17, 2026, as part of the implementation of the “Law and Order” program, Kazakhstan-American Free University hosted an online guest lecture by Mahabat Tanybekovna Bekishova, a judge of the Bishkek City Court of the Kyrgyz Republic, for students of the Department of Law and International Relations.

The lecture was devoted to the topic “Audio and Video Recording of Court Proceedings in Civil Proceedings of the Kyrgyz Republic.” During the meeting, students learned about the legal framework governing the use of technical means to record court proceedings, the circumstances under which a court hearing may be held without audio and video recording, as well as the actions to be taken by the presiding judge in the event of technical malfunctions.

Particular attention was paid to the procedure for examining audio and video recordings by the court in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic. The lecture allowed students to expand their knowledge of civil proceedings and gain insight into the practical experience of the judicial system of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Such events contribute to improving young people’s legal literacy, strengthening respect for the law, and fostering a strong legal culture, which is consistent with the key objectives of the “Law and Order” program.
