Guest Lecture on Strategies for Promoting a Scientist in the International Academic Community Held at KAFU
On April 15, 2026, within the framework of the XVI International Forum of Young Scientists “Modern Scientific Directions: From Applied Research to Innovation,” the Kazakhstan-American Free University hosted a guest lecture titled “How to Make Yourself Known in Global Science: Strategies, Tools, and Mistakes.”
The speaker was Elizaveta Aleksandrovna Gromova, Doctor of Law, Professor, Deputy Director of the Institute of Law, and Professor of the Department of Civil Law and Civil Procedure at South Ural State University.
During the lecture, participants discussed key issues related to building a researcher’s academic reputation in the international scientific community. Special attention was given to the importance of a scientist’s personal brand, networking, publication activity, and increasing citation rates.
The speaker also presented modern digital tools that help researchers promote their work and establish a professional presence globally. Among the platforms discussed were ORCID, ResearchGate, Google Scholar, SSRN, and Academia.edu.
In addition, practical ways of professional positioning were covered, including participation in international conferences, online schools, research groups, delivering open lectures, and creating science communication content such as podcasts.
The lecture attracted strong interest from students, master’s students, young researchers, and faculty members. Participants received valuable recommendations on building a successful academic career, expanding international collaboration, and effectively presenting their research achievements on a global level.
