Hidden Dangers of Vaping Discussed at KAFU
On October 15, 2026, the Kazakh-American Free University (KAFU) hosted a discussion titled “Secret Dangers of Vaping,” focused on the spread of vaping among young people. The event was held as part of the “Adal Azamat” (Conscientious Citizen) program.
Participants included second-year students from the “Foreign Language” and “Translation Studies” academic programs. The discussion was led by Dmitry A. Lozhnikov, a lecturer in the Department of Foreign Languages.
The students explored the hidden dangers of vaping, its impact on physical and mental health, and the specific risks that electronic cigarettes pose to the developing bodies of young people. Particular attention was given to the composition of e-liquids, common misconceptions regarding their relative “safety” compared to traditional cigarettes, and the risk of developing an addiction.
During the discussion, participants examined the social factors driving the popularity of vaping among youth and analyzed the marketing tactics that make such products appealing to teenagers and students.
The open-dialogue format allowed students to express their own viewpoints, provide supporting arguments, and propose ways to prevent harmful habits while promoting a healthy lifestyle.
The event helped foster a more conscious approach among students toward their own health and a better understanding of the consequences of using electronic cigarettes.
