Interactive Workshop: “Introduction to Servant Leadership”
On September 28, 2026, an interactive workshop titled “Global Mindset” was held in the assembly hall of Kazakhstan-American Free University. The event took place as part of the International Scientific Congress “The Future of Science and Education: International Experience, Innovation and Leadership.”
The speaker was Timothy Lee Moore, Director of Short-Term Professional Teams and Exchange Internships at Resource Exchange International, an international organization based in Colorado, USA.
Participants discussed what it means to be a global citizen and how values, life experiences, culture, and social environment influence the development of a person’s identity and worldview. Particular attention was paid to the concept of a global mindset — the ability to understand people with different cultural and life experiences, respect diverse perspectives, and build effective intercultural communication.
During the practical part of the workshop, participants took part in an interactive activity titled “What Makes Me, Me?” They identified their key values and strengths, reflected on their own identities, and explored the “Diversity Iceberg” model. The model demonstrated that many aspects of a person’s identity, experiences, and beliefs are not always visible when meeting someone for the first time.
The meeting concluded with a reflection session. Participants shared what they had learned about themselves, which of their own perceptions they had reconsidered, and what they would like to understand better about other cultures.
The interactive workshop encouraged participants to look at themselves and others from a new perspective, recognize the value of cultural diversity, and reflect on their place in today’s global world.
