IX Regional Olympiad in Kazakh Language and Literature

On February 24, 2023, the Kazakh-American Free University held the IX Regional Olympiad in the Kazakh language and literature, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Oralkhan Bokey. In total, 95 students of grades 10 and 11 of the schools of Ulan, Tarbagatai, Katon-Karagay, Zaisan districts and Ust-Kamenogorsk took part in the subject Olympiad, held at the regional level.

Subject Olympiads are a great way to find gifted students, develop their creativity and stimulate interest in science and education. And for the participants of the Olympiad, it is an opportunity to test their knowledge, evaluate themselves and enter a university without exams. The subject Olympiad in the Kazakh language and literature selects the best of the best, and also provides an opportunity to understand the worldview of the writer-playwright Oralkhan Bokey among future applicants.

The Olympiad consisted of 2 stages. At the 1st stage, the participants solved test tasks according to the curriculum, at the 2nd stage they wrote essays related to the life and work of Oralkhan Bokei.

The training for students who passed the second stage of the Olympiad was conducted by the Senior Lecturer of the Pedagogy and Psychology Department, psychologist Elizaveta Katanova.
