KAFU Hosts “Leaders’ Day”
On June 4, 2026, the Kazakhstan-American Free University (KAFU) hosted its first-ever interactive educational intensive, “Leaders’ Day.” The event was organized in cooperation with the Eurasian Leaders Association and served as an effective platform for developing students’ leadership qualities, communication skills, and teamwork abilities.
The primary goal of the intensive was to equip young people with the skills of team-oriented thinking, effective communication, and decision-making in situations of uncertainty and high responsibility.
The educational program opened with presentations by distinguished experts from Kazakhstan. Alibek Timitaevich Tazhibayev, Director of the Analytical Research Center “Eurasian Monitoring,” introduced participants to the activities of the Eurasian Leaders Association and presented the key principles of systemic leadership. His lecture focused on historical memory, social development, and the role of a systems approach in the formation of leadership competencies.
Taisiya Viktorovna Marmontova, Professor at Astana International University and Candidate of Historical Sciences, delivered a lecture dedicated to the key events of the Great Patriotic War. She encouraged participants to examine historical processes through the lens of systems analysis and emphasized the importance of preserving national memory for future generations.
A special part of the program was the interactive training block, which allowed students to immediately apply their newly acquired knowledge in practice. Participants were divided into three teams and took part in a series of specialized workshops designed to develop leadership and communication skills.
Throughout the activities, students worked on practical case studies, learned how to collaborate effectively within a team, develop joint solutions, and demonstrate initiative in challenging situations. Each stage was followed by reflection sessions and discussions, helping participants analyze their actions, identify their strengths, and determine areas for further growth.
Networking was also an important component of the event. Students from different academic programs and years of study had the opportunity to get acquainted, exchange experiences, discuss ideas, and explore possibilities for future collaboration.
The intensive concluded with a final team-building challenge, which all groups successfully completed. The culmination of the event was an awards ceremony, during which participants received commemorative certificates in recognition of their activity, initiative, and high level of engagement.
Representatives of the Eurasian Leaders Association and the leadership of the Kazakhstan-American Free University highly praised the students’ enthusiasm and expressed confidence that “Leaders’ Day” would become a new and meaningful tradition at KAFU, contributing to the development of the leadership potential of young people.
