KAFU Hosts Literary Evening: “Books – An Inexhaustible Spiritual Treasure”
On November 2, 2026, the Kazakh-American Free University (KAFU) hosted a literary gathering titled “Books – An Inexhaustible Spiritual Treasure” as part of the “Reading Nation” project. The event was organized by students from the “Kazakh Language and Literature” educational program (years 1–4) under the guidance of Associate Professor K.T. Kairbayeva.
The gathering aimed to foster a greater interest in reading among students, encourage reflection on the role of literature in human life, and promote both national and universal human values.
During the event, participants discussed the significance of books throughout the history of human civilization, as well as their influence on the formation of one’s worldview and personal intellectual and spiritual development. Special emphasis was placed on the role of literature in cultivating moral character, a thirst for knowledge, kindness, and wisdom, while also highlighting the richness and expressive power of the written word.
The program featured discussions, expressive readings of literary excerpts, poetry, and famous quotations. Students shared their thoughts on their favorite books and authors, exploring the educational value of literature and its impact on shaping life values.
The literary gathering served as a platform for creative engagement, the exchange of ideas, and the promotion of a reading culture among the student body.
