KAFU Student Participates in the National Training “Online Activism Camp.”
Valeria Rodionova, a second-year student in the Journalism program at the Kazakh-American Free University, participated in the annual intensive course on online activism, which took place April 20-21, 2026, in the picturesque resort area of Borovoe.
The event was organized by the Legal Media Center public foundation. The project aimed to train new leaders prepared to work effectively in the digital space, defend the principles of justice, and develop Kazakhstan’s media environment.
For two days, Valeria, along with other activists from across the country, immersed herself in the latest tools of the modern media sphere. The training program covered key areas essential for future journalists:
– methods of protecting personal data and working safely online.
– the basics of verifying information and combating fake news in the post-truth era.
– using digital tools to protect citizens’ rights.
– master classes on creating compelling visual content and professional videos.
Participating in these off-site workshops allows KAFU students not only to gain cutting-edge knowledge from leading industry experts but also to build professional networking connections with colleagues from other regions.
