KAFU Students Win Prizes at International Conference in Astana
On April 10, 2026, students from the Kazakh-American Free University represented the university with distinction at the international scientific conference for undergraduate and graduate students, “Science and the New Generation – 2026,” held at the A.K. Kussainov Eurasian Humanities Institute.
Fourth-year students majoring in Journalism at KAFU participated in the conference. Specifically, Balausa Orazalıkyzy presented an online paper titled “The Pragmatic Function of Modern Newspaper Headlines (using the Press as an Example).” Makpal Orynbaeva presented her paper offline on the topic of “The Pragmatic Nature of Emotionally Expressive Words in Media Discourse.” Nursulu K. Turgumbaeva supervised the conference. Following the conference, KAFU students’ work was highly praised by experts for its relevance and practical significance. Both participants took second place, confirming the university’s high level of preparation and scientific potential.
