Leadership Academy Day at the Altai Alps
On May 27, 2026, participants of the 2026 International Leadership Academy of the Kazakh-American Free University held a program orientation day at the Altai Alps recreation center.
The event brought together students, faculty, and partners of the Kazakh-American Free University from Kazakhstan, the United States, Uzbekistan, Nigeria, and the Philippines. Throughout the day, they participated in interactive exercises, team games, and tasks aimed at developing leadership qualities, communication skills, and effective collaboration.
Particular attention was paid to introducing the participants to the cultures and traditions of different countries. In a relaxed atmosphere, the young leaders shared stories about themselves, their universities, and their life experiences, discovered common interests, and learned to better understand each other. This interaction was an important step toward fostering an atmosphere of trust and cooperation that will accompany the participants throughout the Academy.
The picturesque natural setting of the Altai Alps created ideal conditions for open dialogue and teamwork. Participants were able to not only enjoy the beauty of Eastern Kazakhstan but also feel part of a large international community united by shared values and a commitment to positive change.
Orientation Day served as the first practical lesson in leadership, demonstrating that real change begins with listening to others, working together, and taking responsibility for a common cause. Ahead of the participants are educational training sessions, meetings with community organizations, volunteer projects, and an introduction to social initiatives in the region.
