Lecture on Combating Cybercrime
On May 25, 2026, Ilya A. Issabekov, Senior Prosecutor for Information Security of the Department of the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Accounts of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the East Kazakhstan Region, gave a guest lecture to students of the Department of Law and International Relations at KAFU.
The event was held as part of the Strategic Partnership Agreement between the Kazakh-American Free University and the Department of the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Accounts of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the East Kazakhstan Region.
The lecture addressed current issues in combating cybercrime, the social dangers of online fraud, and precautions to avoid becoming a victim of cybercrime. Particular attention was paid to the liability stipulated by the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan for participation in dropper schemes.
The undergraduate and graduate students showed great interest in the topics discussed, actively asked questions, and participated in the discussion. The Department of Law and International Relations expresses its gratitude to the Department of the Committee on Legal Statistics and Special Records of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the East Kazakhstan Region for many years of fruitful cooperation and contribution to the professional development of students.
