Lesson of Courage “The Name of the Hero is in the Memory of the People”

On May 2, 2025, a lesson of courage on the topic “The Name of the Hero is in the Memory of the People” was held for first-year students of the Kazakh-American Free University as part of the event “The Path to Victory” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The honorary guest of the event was the chairman of the veterans’ council, Asset A. Dautbayev. In his speech, Asset A. Dautbayev emphasized that peace was not easy for us, and now there are almost no veterans left. He also said that this year one veteran from Ust-Kamenogorsk will take part in the Victory Parade on Red Square in Moscow.

The lesson was dedicated to the anniversaries in honor of the heroes: the 140th anniversary of Bauyrzhan Momyshuly, the 110th anniversary of Malik Gabdullin, as well as the exploits of two Heroes of the Soviet Union – Aliya Moldagulova and Manshuk Mametova, and the partisan, our fellow countryman, Kassym Kaysenov. The goal of the lesson is to preserve the memory of the exploits of the heroes who gave their lives for the Motherland, to form a sense of patriotism through their images, and to deepen students’ knowledge of the history of the Great Patriotic War – one of the most important pages in the history of Kazakhstan. Through theatrical performances, the participants tried to feel the images of the heroes and understand the greatness of their feat.
