Mock Trial on Consumer Rights Protection Held at KAFU

On October 14, 2026, as part of the “Law and Order” (Zañ men tärtip) program—an initiative focused on practice-oriented learning and legal education—a mock trial was held, featuring students from the “Jurisprudence” academic program.

The mock trial centered on a civil dispute between a customer and an individual entrepreneur regarding the quality of furniture manufacturing, delivery, and assembly.

Case Background:

The customer filed a lawsuit for the protection of consumer rights after discovering manufacturing defects in the furniture facades, as well as safety violations during the installation of wall-mounted cabinets. The service provider filed a counterclaim, seeking to recover the outstanding balance due under the service contract. During the proceedings, the court heard expert testimony and the position of a representative from the Department of Consumer Rights Protection.

This mock trial provided students with a practical, hands-on understanding of civil litigation, the procedures for examining and evaluating evidence, the role of expert witnesses, and the application of consumer protection legislation in real-world scenarios.

Such events help develop the professional competencies of future legal practitioners, enhance legal literacy, and foster respect for the law and the principles of the legal order.
