Participants of the KAFU International Leadership Academy Attend the AmeriCon festival

On June 6, 2026, participants of the International Leadership Academy 2026, organized by the Kazakhstan-American Free University in partnership with Co-Serve International (Portland, USA), took part in the AmeriCon English Language Festival held at the A.S. Pushkin East Kazakhstan Regional Library with the participation of American Corner Oskemen.

The festival brought together school students, university students, educators, and everyone interested in the English language and American culture. Among the guests were Leadership Academy participants from Kazakhstan, the United States, Uzbekistan, Nigeria, and the Philippines. For them, the festival provided another valuable opportunity for intercultural communication and language practice.

Throughout the day, visitors participated in a variety of interactive activities, including language stations, a virtual reality zone, the Makerspace creative workshop, and educational learning spaces. Participants completed engaging tasks, explored modern learning technologies, and actively communicated with one another in an English-speaking environment.

One of the festival’s highlights was the opportunity to meet and interact with ten native English speakers from the United States. Guests learned more about American culture, the education system, and everyday life in the U.S., while also practicing conversational English through informal discussions.

For the participants of the International Leadership Academy, attending AmeriCon was a valuable experience that broadened their horizons, strengthened their communication skills, and once again demonstrated the importance of international dialogue and cultural exchange.

The AmeriCon Festival once again proved that learning English can be both effective and enjoyable, bringing together people of different ages, countries, and cultures.
