Pre-Defense of a Doctoral Student of the Department of Law and International Relations

On July 14, 2025, the Department of Law and International Relations of the Kazakh-American Free University held a pre-defense of the dissertation research of Rita Adilmuratova for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in the EP “Jurisprudence”.
The topic of the dissertation is devoted to one of the current issues of criminal proceedings – The Principle of the Language of Legal Proceedings and the Organizational and Legal Status of an Interpreter in Criminal Proceedings. The discussion touched upon theoretical and applied aspects of ensuring the linguistic rights of participants in criminal proceedings, as well as an analysis of the current organizational and legal mechanisms regulating the participation of interpreters in criminal proceedings.
The discussion was attended by practicing judges: Judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Savinova A.S., and retired judge, acting lawyer, Seitov K.K. They asked several questions regarding the practical implementation of the provisions of the dissertation and gave positive assessments of the presented research.
Official opponents — candidate of legal sciences Bayrkenova G. T. and candidate of legal sciences, associate professor of the Department of Jurisprudence of the East Kazakhstan S. Amanzholov university Ramazanova A. S. — also actively participated in the discussion, noted the scientific significance of the work, asked clarifying questions and provided constructive comments, highly appreciating the work done.
The faculty members of the Department of Law and International Relations actively participated in the discussion, asked questions to the doctoral student, and provided valuable recommendations that contributed to the further improvement of the study.
The pre-defense was held in a constructive and professional atmosphere. The recommendations and comments received will be taken into account when finalizing the dissertation before its final defense. We thank all participants for their active participation and valuable suggestions!
