Results of the “Current Issues in Journalism and Society” Section
On April 13, 2026, the “Current Issues in Journalism and Society” section was held at the Kazakh-American Free University as part of the 16th International Forum of Young Scientists, “Modern Scientific Trends: From Applied Research to Innovation.”
The moderator of the section was Natalya A. Moshenskaya. During the session, participants presented research on current transformations in modern journalism, the impact of digital technologies and social media on the media landscape, and public opinion formation.
Particular attention was paid to the use of artificial intelligence in media, the development of video content, the phenomenon of fake news, and the transformation of journalism genres. Participants demonstrated a high level of preparation, the relevance of their chosen topics, and the practical significance of their research.
Based on the results of the section, the prizes were distributed as follows:
1st place – D.I. Serebrova, A.P. Semenova;
2nd place – S.E. Komarova, M.A. Bugaev, S.V. Bezverkhova;
3rd place – L.V. Stepanova, L.D. Papenfot.
N.A. Tabakov, M.O. Shamshura, and A.I. Chechetkin were also awarded participation diplomas.
The section confirmed the high scientific potential of students in the Journalism program and their readiness for research in the context of modern media realities.
