Results of the Literary Lounge
On April 14, 2023, the Kazakh-American Free University celebrated the 200th anniversary of the birth of one of the greatest Russian playwrights – Alexander Ostrovsky. This event was held as part of the XIII Forum of Young Scientists “Modern Scientific Areas: from Applied Research to Innovation”.
Holding a literary lounge is of great importance in terms of the development of cultural education and the popularization of literature among schoolchildren, students and teachers, helps to develop the creative potential of participants and expand their knowledge of the literary heritage, and also helps to strengthen cultural ties between various educational and cultural communities.
Creativity of Ostrovsky had a huge impact on the development of Russian literature and theater. His works are still relevant and interesting for modern readers and viewers, and are rightfully considered classics of Russian literature.
Participants of the Literary Lounge presented stage performances based on the works of N.A. Ostrovsky “Dowry” and “Thunderstorm”. In total, the event was attended by seven creative groups from schools in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk and a creative group of students of KAFU EP “Russian Language and Literature” and “Journalism”.
At the beginning of the event, 2nd and 3rd year KAFU students presented a video about the life and work of Ostrovsky.
Zhasulan Baikenov, First Vice-President of KAFU addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasizing the importance of educational events for students and trainees.
The members of the jury were Andrey Voronin – artistic director of the Zhambyl Regional Drama Theater, Vitaliy Kakhanov – General Director of “Trade Group “VITA”, Nadezhda Zueva – teacher of the highest category, Natalia Nesterenko – adviser to the Rector of KAFU, Madina Meirambekova – teacher of the Higher College of KAFU, Lidia Misevra – teacher of KAFU.
A quiz was held for the participants of the Literary Lounge, the winners received the gifts. The creative groups of the participants were awarded diplomas in various nominations, and the participants were also provided with books and gift certificates from the VITA Trade Group.
