Students from Five Countries Gather at the International Leadership Academy at KAFU
As part of its mission to develop future leaders, the Kazakh-American Free University, in partnership with Co-Serve International (Portland, Oregon, USA), is hosting the International Leadership Academy — a unique educational program for students from around the world.
In 2025, the Academy has brought together 32 participants in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, representing five countries: the USA, Afghanistan, Thailand, the Philippines, and Kazakhstan.
The Academy’s program is designed to introduce participants to outstanding examples of leadership in Kazakhstan. Over the course of several weeks, students will visit 12 leading organizations, meet successful leaders, and learn how they serve society by developing people and building strong teams. Among the key moments is the opportunity to meet KAFU leaders and professors.
A special feature of the Academy is the International Servant Leadership Program — a unique course designed specifically for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students. At its core are the principles of service, respect for human dignity, the development of personal and professional potential, team building, and uniting efforts to achieve shared goals.
The goals of the International Leadership Program include:
- Developing personal and professional leadership potential
- Gaining intercultural communication skills
- Strengthening international connections
- Improving English language skills for work in international companies
- Mastering new, effective approaches to management and teamwork
The 2025 Academy officially launched on May 28, 2025, with an orientation day held at the picturesque Izumrudny Summer Camp near Gornaya Ulbinka. There, participants got to know each other, discussed their plans, and prepared for an inspiring and productive journey ahead.
We are proud that the Kazakh-American Free University is a platform for shaping a new generation of leaders ready to change the world for the better!
