The 2nd Regional Recitation Competition at KAFU
On March 30, 2026, the II Regional Recitation Contest was held at the Kazakhstan-American Free University. The competition was organized to support literary creativity among young people, develop expressive reading skills, and promote regional poetry. School students and university students from various educational institutions of the East Kazakhstan region took part in the event.
The contest was opened with speeches by First Vice President of KAFU Zhasulan Yerbolovich Baikenov, as well as Advisor to the Rector of KAFU and Chair of the Jury, Natalia Aleksandrovna Nesterenko.
The jury included:
Andrey Vasilyevich Voronin — Artistic Director of the Regional Drama Theater;
Vitaly Aleksandrovich Kakhanov — General Director of “VITA Group of Companies” LLP;
Makhabbat Zhetpisbekkyzy Burambayeva — Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of School-Gymnasium No. 12, teacher of Kazakh language and literature;
Berik Yerbulatuly Sarsekov — Expert of the Media Relations Department of the “House of Friendship – Center for Public Accord” of East Kazakhstan Region;
Inessa Sergeyevna Demyanova — teacher of Russian language and literature at the regional specialized school-lyceum for gifted children in mathematics, physics, and informatics;
Gulzhan Bakybekovna Yedilbayeva — Senior Lecturer of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology at KAFU;
Natalya Alekseyevna Moshenskaya — Senior Lecturer of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology at KAFU.
The participants performed works by Kazakhstani and regional authors such as Serik Gabdullin, Yevgeny Kurdakov, Mikhail Chistyakov, Oralhan Kosherov, Khalelkhan Adilkhanov, Ulykbek Yesdauletov, Pavel Vasilyev, and Kopen Yerkasov.
A special place in the program was given to original poetry. Gayaz Karakhozhin, Polina Kravchenko, Neylya Nurgazina, Margarita Rodionova, Ksenia Zlobina, Ardabek Kabylaqat, and Alikhan Suleimenov showcased their poetic talents. The themes of the performances covered deep and meaningful topics, including love for their native land and the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, sincere gratitude to teachers, and a dedication to the 30th anniversary of KAFU.
Special prizes were awarded by Vitaly Aleksandrovich Kakhanov, General Director of “VITA Group of Companies” LLP, who emphasized in his speech the importance of reading, especially in the digital age.
