The Founding Meeting of the Public Social Fund “My Native City” was Held at KAFU
On April 30, 2025, a constituent meeting was held at the Kazakh-American Free University to establish the “My Native City” Public Social Fund. The new fund will become a platform for uniting the efforts of respected city residents in the field of social, cultural and charitable activities.
The initiators of its creation were famous public figures of Ust-Kamenogorsk:
— Yrezhep A. Mambetkaziyev — President of KAFU, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
— Gennady N. Pussep — Honorary Citizen of East Kazakhstan Region and the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, member of the Writers’ Union of Kazakhstan and Russia;
— Boris V. Shcherbakov — Candidate of Biological Sciences, Honorary Citizen of East Kazakhstan Region;
— Ryspek K. Kassenov — Chairman of the Party Control Commission of the Baytak Party Branch of East Kazakhstan Region, Advisor to the President of KAFU;
— Aigul B. Kurmanbaeva— veteran of the city state revenue committee;
— Ayauzhan T. Ashimova— chairman of the Public Council of the East Kazakhstan region;
— Vladimir G. Kolchev— laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
— Sovet K. Imangaliev— adviser to the president of KAFU;
— Nadezhda G. Stepanchuk— public figure, member of the Council of Business Women of the East Kazakhstan region.
During the meeting, the Charter and the Founding Agreement were approved, the management bodies of the fund were formed: the Board of Trustees, the Management Board and the Audit Commission. The staffing schedule for 2025 was also adopted.
The event was attended by the head of the apparatus of the Akim of the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk Azamat K. Karagyzov. In his speech, he noted the importance of civil initiatives for solving social problems and expressed readiness for constructive interaction with the Fund on behalf of the city authorities.
The creation of the “My Native City” fund is aimed at activating the participation of city residents in solving social problems, supporting low-income groups of the population, as well as developing education, culture and spiritual life of Ust-Kamenogorsk.
