The Profession of Psychologist in the Police: Dialogue with KAFU Students
On April 20, 2026, staff from the Specialized and Professional Training Department of the Police Department held a career guidance meeting with psychology students from the Kazakh-American Free University.
During the event, the future specialists learned about the specifics of working as a psychologist in the law enforcement system and received detailed information about the professional requirements and career prospects.
The following topics were discussed during the meeting:
• candidate selection criteria and key stages of employment;
• specifics of psychological support for police officers;
• social guarantees, support measures, and career advancement opportunities in the law enforcement system.
Police Department representatives noted that working as a psychologist in the law enforcement system requires a high level of responsibility, professional training, resilience to stressful situations, and the ability to work with people.
Such meetings facilitate students’ career guidance, broaden their understanding of employment opportunities, and strengthen interactions between educational institutions and government agencies.
