“To Acquit or to Accuse”: A Dialogue on Professional Ethics

As part of the “Adal Azamat” program, Kamilla Y. Ko, a lecturer in the Department of Business at the Kazakh-American Free University, conducted an interactive event titled “To Acquit or to Accuse.” The event aimed to foster ethical thinking, professional responsibility, and a culture of reasoned debate among students.

During the session, students analyzed controversial professional scenarios through mini-debates, taking turns acting as the prosecution, the defense, and the jury. Participants were required not only to express their opinions but also to substantiate their positions, consider professional ethical standards, and evaluate the potential consequences of their decisions.

This interactive format enabled students to examine professional dilemmas from multiple perspectives, learn to listen to opposing viewpoints, articulate their own positions, and make more considered decisions.

The event served as a platform for open dialogue regarding honesty, fairness, responsibility, and conscious professional choice—values ​​that lie at the heart of the “Adal Azamat” program.
