Visit to the Prosecutor’s Office of the East Kazakhstan Region
On October 22, 2026, as part of the activities of the Legal Clinic at the Kazakh-American Free University (KAFU), the study of the discipline “Sociology,” and the implementation of the national ideology of “Law and Order,” first-year students from the Department of Law and International Relations visited the Prosecutor’s Office of the East Kazakhstan Region. The students were accompanied by Saveliy A. Muzhchil, head of the KAFU Legal Clinic.
Representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office briefed the students on the legal status, objectives, and core functions of the prosecution authorities, their historical development, and their role in preventing offenses and strengthening the rule of law. Particular attention was given to the professional qualifications and ethical standards required of staff within the Prosecutor’s Office.
The visit allowed students to view the Prosecutor’s Office not merely as a state body, but as a vital socio-legal institution dedicated to protecting citizens’ rights, public interests, and the rule of law. The insights gained helped the students better understand the interplay between law, the state, and society—a key theme within the “Sociology” curriculum.
The meeting also served to promote the principles of the “Law and Order” ideology, fostering a legal culture among the students, as well as respect for the law, a sense of civic responsibility, and an intolerance toward unlawful acts.
Additionally, the students were given a tour of the museum at the Prosecutor’s Office of the East Kazakhstan Region. They learned about the key stages in the development of the region’s prosecution authorities, discovered the contributions of individuals who played a significant role in upholding the rule of law, and explored the professional traditions and achievements of the institution.
The visit proved highly educational and served a valuable career-orientation purpose, broadening the students’ understanding of the work of law enforcement agencies and the requirements associated with the legal profession. We would like to thank the leadership and staff of the East Kazakhstan Region Prosecutor’s Office for an informative meeting, a warm welcome, and an engaging tour!
