Working Meeting for the Regional Youth Project “Tax Culture: Youth and the State”

On September 24, 2026, representatives of Kazakhstan-American Free University took part in a working meeting dedicated to the implementation of the regional youth project “Tax Culture: Youth and the State” for the 2026–2027 academic year. The event was organized by the Department of State Revenues of East Kazakhstan Region.

The working meeting was held within the framework of the Memorandum of Strategic Partnership between Kazakhstan-American Free University and the Department of State Revenues of East Kazakhstan Region, as well as in accordance with the objectives of the nationwide concept “Law and Order.”

The University was represented at the event by G.A. Menzyuk, Dean of the Faculty of Business, Law and Education; K.O. Alembayev, Head of the Department of Law and International Relations; and O.B. Leyman, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Business.

The project aims to improve the tax, financial, and legal literacy of young people, promote tax volunteering, and strengthen cooperation among government authorities, educational institutions, and students across the region.

The project’s partner is the Public Foundation “Kazakhstan International Legal Cooperation Foundation,” headed by Doctor of Law K.H. Rakhimberdin.

S.S. Bimagambetov, Head of the Department of State Revenues of East Kazakhstan Region, delivered welcoming remarks to the participants. Sayat Sailaubekovich outlined the main areas for improving young people’s tax culture and highlighted current issues related to the development of legal culture in society.

During the meeting, K.H. Rakhimberdin presented the concept of the project. The participants discussed its goals and objectives, possible forms of participation for students and faculty members, as well as prospects for holding joint competitions, quizzes, educational and awareness-raising activities, and volunteer initiatives.

The project provides for a comprehensive program of informational, educational, and awareness-raising activities. One of its key areas will be the work of the “Tax Volunteer of East Kazakhstan Region” club, which will bring together students from finance and economics, law, management, and related academic programs.
