“Working with Anxiety”: A Meeting at KAFU

On September 30, 2026, KAFU hosted a meeting with Yulia Vyacheslavovna Kashkarova, a practicing psychologist, cognitive behavioral and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) therapist, and a member of the Kazakhstan Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

During the meeting, students of the Psychology educational program learned about modern approaches to working with anxiety, as well as tools used in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Particular attention was paid to working with various anxiety-related conditions, including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), and specific phobias. Using examples from their own lives, the students were able to experience the effects of the psychological tools discussed during the session.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity for students to gain practical skills and expand their understanding of modern approaches to psychological support.
