Workshop on topic “Copyrights and Patents for Development”

What is copyright? What are the objects of copyright? What is the difference between property and non-property rights of authors? What is the principle of territoriality in copyright? These and many other questions were answered by the Director of the company “Patent Attorney of the Republic of Kazakhstan” Kymbat Omurbekova as part of a workshop held on November 21, 2022 for teachers and students of the 3rd and 4th year of the EP “Law”.

The speaker, having 8 years of experience in the field of patent science, shared with the audience her experience in obtaining copyright certificates, patents for inventions, trademarks in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as abroad.

Now the sphere of intellectual property law is very relevant and requires a good knowledge of the law and the ability to apply it. The lawyers specializing in intellectual property issues should be able not only to register copyrights, but also to draw up contracts, maintain documentation, represent in court, know the norms of international intellectual property law and the basics of civil legislation of foreign countries.
These competencies can be formed by students and teachers while running special certified courses (company website http://tovarniyznak.kz/oby), which will help future lawyers to be professionals in the field of intellectual property.

The speaker also noted that graduate students of KAFU, the university of international partnership, have the main advantage in this professional field – knowledge of the English language. Good knowledge of the language of international communication will help you become a patent attorney in any country in the world and make a brilliant career in the field of intellectual property!

Thank you for your cooperation!
