Youth and Digital Security

On September 15, 2026, Kazakhstan-American Free University, in cooperation with the Kazakhstan Association “DAMU”, held an information and awareness-raising seminar for university students dedicated to digital security.

In today’s world, digital literacy is not simply about knowing how to use technology. It also means being able to protect personal data, recognize scams, respond to cyber threats, and behave responsibly in the online environment.

During the seminar, participants discussed the main types of digital threats, ways to protect personal information, social media and messenger security, as well as methods for identifying fraudulent schemes and fake information.

Particular attention was paid to developing a culture of safe online behavior among young people and understanding the personal responsibility of every user.

The seminar concluded with an open dialogue, where students had the opportunity to ask questions, discuss real-life situations, and receive practical recommendations.

Such meetings are especially important today, as the digital environment has become an integral part of young people’s lives.

A safer digital space begins with an informed and responsible user!
